Hi All, I was really desperate to get my hands on Win7 so got an ISO burned it on my DVD-RW. From boot menu selected the DVD to boot from it started installing a fresh copy by formatting the existing Win XP (can’t upgrade from XP to Win7 so took a risk), but failed at 95% when it was expanding files. Rather rushing to purchase a new DVD I started to search for making my 8GB USB drive bootable in some way and succeeded doing so after some experiments. Definitely the motherboard must support booting from USB; most of the older ones don’t support it.
Just some tips
Trick
Actually it was too simple in the end. I just downloaded a nice utility named Win2Flash which made things easy. This utility has a simple interface and you don’t need to install it first. Run the Win2Flash.exe accept the User Agreement; keep on doing next without reading to much J unless u reach this screen.
For a try I loaded the ISO with Nero& image drive and gave Windows files path the drive letter for the second parameter obviously the USB drive path, after that the utility will format the USB so don’t forget to backup the important data. Another EULA sort of thing will appear that you must accept and the USB will be ready to perform the magic.
